Soul crafting workshop. A retreat for women

New course. From semi-abstraction to abstraction, your personal journey
New monthly all day Sundays, second Sunday of the month, at Lydiate parish hall L31 4EQ
next class June 14th 2026, a monthly class, second Sunday of the month.
This course offers you the opportunity to take your own personal journey towards semi-abstraction and abstraction. Intended to show members how they can take this journey on a well structured course, yet flexible enough to allow for individual choices.
Remember, working this way gives you complete freedom as an artist. No restrictions as there's no right or wrong way of doing it. It's simply down to your own creativity, but often this needs to nurtured.
Course will be ongoing through the year and will develop in an organic way. Though structured to teach from the very basics, how to create and develop an idea into a finished piece of art, or series, the course will be flexible to enable the participants to have an input so that everyone gets the maximum outcome. You will be encouraged to work on your own initiative away from class. This could be exploring ideas, researching like-minded artists to further your own knowledge. More on this in class.
Do you need previous art experience. No, even if a complete beginner. The aim of this course is to tap into your creativity. When working in a non-representational way, there isn't a right or wrong way of creating art. This you will discover.

Life drawing classes,
Taster session, Saturday, to be announced for 2026. Contact me if interested.
The life drawing classes are the best way to learn how to draw accurately, as working directly from the model forces you to engage in observational drawing. You can learn the measuring system in a couple of hours, then it's practice!
If feeling nervous about attending a life class for the first time, or with little experience, then consider coming to the taster session for absolute beginners, or those with limited experience. You will be introduced on how to draw the model and get the exact proportions. Otherwise without a measuring system you will trust your eye and get the measurements wrong!
Opportunities to exhibit your work!
We have at least two exhibitions a year. Members look forward to the opportunity to show their work. Most of those who exhibit have sold paintings. Also great opportunity to see how the public react to your work!
Venues and prices of classes
Art classes are held throughout the Sefton area, including Liverpool.
